Steps To Adoption
The following will walk you through how to adopt a puppy with Maltese Angel Babies.
1. Decide to adopt - this might sound like an obvious step but it involves making a conscious commitment to love, cherish and care for your new Angel Baby for the rest of its life. Make sure everyone in your household is on board with this decision.
2. Become an approved parent in waiting - to get approved, the first step is to call and talk to Sally. This is an initial friendly conversation where we get to know each other. After that, you will be sent a questionnaire to fill out and return. We will then call or email you with any concerns. Usually we can simply designate you an Approved Parent and you can more forward toward adopting your puppy.
3. Once approved we highly reccommend that you start making preparations for your future Angel Baby. These will be discussed with you at the time. You may need to wait a few months (but maybe not) for an available puppy.
Once your Angel Baby is born, you will be notified. Parents are usually selected before the birth based on information obtained in previous discussions with Sally.
A couple of days after birth you will be invited to meet your new Angel Baby via Zoom. You will be able to see him or her with their litter mates nursing with their mother. The visit will last about 40 minutes. After the viewing you will be asked if you'd like to claim that Angel Baby as your own.
If at this point you want your Angel Baby, you will be asked to put a second payment down on top of your initial payment which you made to get on the Wait List. We provide you with a written Adoption Agreement with all terms and conditions, including a one-year genetic health guarantee. We update the Agreement as you make your deposits and final payment for your puppy. You and Sally will sign the Agreement when you come to our home to pick up your puppy, usually at seven weeks after birth.

We will care for your Angel Baby as if it were our own! From now until you pick up your Angel Baby at around seven weeks old we will do everything we can to meet and exceed your expectations for this very special adoption journey.
We will need the balance of your puppy's price paid in full before you take your puppy home. We will provide you with details depending on how you plan to make your payments. Funds must clear our bank before pick-up day or you can pay the balance in cash when you pick up your puppy. We cannot release an Angel Baby without good funds. If unclear about this step or if you have any financial questions, please ask to speak to Steve.
Please feel free to ask any of us if you have any further questions.
